PAPERCRAFT: RESEARCH

As an art form originating in China, the art of origami can be traced back as far as 583 A.D. A single piece of intact paper, folded over and over again, is transformed into a variety of extremely intricate and lifelike origami creations. Over the decades, our origami art has developed rapidly through the tireless efforts of a generation of origami artists and has spread abroad to continue to set trends. For example, Vietnamese origami artist Hoang Tien Quy has created a unique "wet folding" method, which gives his animals a more fluid appearance.

Wet paper is softer more convenient to manipulate and easier to shape. In this way, Huang Tiankui folded a variety of lifelike animals, such as mice, lions, foxes, etc. They became cute and adorable in his hands, just like the real thing.

Huang Tiankui's works show the infinite possibilities of creativity. Through the use of simple paper, he creates a variety of colorful forms and images, which reminds us that we can also use our imagination to create new and unique things in our lives. Huang Tiankui's works are often filled with emotion and expression. Through origami, he expresses his love and thoughts about life, nature, and culture, so that the viewer can feel the emotions and meanings contained in them while enjoying the works. Each work is an expression and presentation of his view of the world, provoking the viewer to think deeply about life and beauty.
